More Hydrogen Powered Motoring in Holstebro
27th November 2009
At the end of this year an additional hydrogen refueling station will open in the city of Holstebro in West Denmark. Also the local municipality will start using three hydrogen powered fuel cell cars.
The city of Holstebro already has two hydrogen stations in operation that are used for refueling of various non-road vehicles. The new hydrogen station is to be used for cars and will be able to deliver 700 bar refueling, in order to enable long range of the fuel cell vehicles.
The hydrogen station will be established nearby an existing hydrogen electrolysis production plant that is owned and operated by the local energy company Vestforsyning. The hydrogen station and the fuel cell systems for the vehicles are developed and supplied by H2 Logic A/S.
The establishment of the hydrogen station and the municipality purchase of fuel cell cars are part of the LINK2009 project in the Hydrogen Link network. The Danish Energy Agency EUDP program has supported the project with €1,9 million through several funding rounds, out of a total budget of €5 million.
